North Calgary High School

The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) is opening a new high school in north Calgary in September of 2023 (official name still to be announced). For the 2023-24 school year, this high school will offer Grades 10 and 11 and will expand to offer Grade 12 for the 2024-25 school year. Regular program students who live in the communities of Country Hills, Country Hills Village, Coventry Hills, Harvest Hills, Hidden Valley and Panorama Hills will be designated to the school.

Which students can attend the North Calgary high school?

The attached map shows the north Calgary high school attendance area. Grade 10 and Grade 11 students living within the boundary for the new high school will attend the school when it opens.

The CBE aims to minimize transitions between schools for students. The new school will not offer Grade 12 in its first year, which enables current Grade 11 students to complete Grade 12 at their current high school in the 2023-24 school year.

Please note that the new high school will only accommodate students living within the designated area. Out-of-attendance area students will not be accepted for the new north Calgary high school. The north high school is expected to be at capacity in the near future, and we need to ensure there is enough space for students who live in the communities designated to this school.
