Jasmine Mian is the City of Calgary Councillor for Ward 3.

Jasmine Mian was elected Councillor for Ward 3 in the Calgary General Election on Oct. 18, 2021. At 31 years old, she was the youngest woman ever elected to Calgary City Council.

A second-generation Canadian, Jasmine first came to Calgary with dreams of representing Canada at the Olympics in wrestling, a goal she achieved in 2016 at the Rio de Janeiro Games. Following her retirement from the sport, she earned Masters degrees in Psychology and Public Policy, both from the University of Calgary. She continued her involvement with wrestling as a board member for Wrestling Canada, and has volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada as well as Ask Her YYC. Before her election, Jasmine worked as a private sector consultant and an administrator at the University of Calgary.

Jasmine is passionate about pedestrian and road safety due to being struck by a driver when she was only four years old. In addition to writing her Master's thesis on pedestrian safety, it has been a key priority while in office. Other areas of focus include public transportation and recreation, as she is currently spearheading efforts to build Calgary’s first multisport recreation complex as chair of the Calgary Multisport Fieldhouse Committee.
